Artist Statement

Anja Nürnberg develops a contemporary painting practice grounded in atmospheric abstraction, colour fields and rhythmic structures. Her works evoke sensory presence through traces of the figurative without constructing narrative.
Memory functions as an activating force rather than a theme: the paintings open spaces in which viewers encounter their own associations and emotional resonances.
Working between gesture, fragmentation and concentration, she creates compositions that remain open, precise and resistant to symbolic reduction.
